Silver Clay and Dichroic Glass Class – Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th September 2025

Description

The combination of a glass cabochon and silver clay is very attractive and beautiful.

In this two day class you will learn the properties of Dichroic Glass.    We will make a few Cabochons and you will learn how to set a beautiful cabochon into silver clay.

Materials provided:                       One glass cabochon ready to use,   Sheets of Dichroic glass and Bulls eye glass to make the cabochons,  15 g Silver clay and one pre made small glass cabochon.

If you wish to do more than one piece, silver clay and ready  made cabochons are available to buy on the day. For this class you will need to have a basic experience of working with silver clay.

Due the cool down period (around 8 to 10  hours after firing) the cabochons that you will make will be ready on the second day.

For your safety, please wear closed shoes, please tie your hair back if it is very long and  don’t forget your glass for close work if you need them.

Contact the Studio for  alternative dates if you can’t attend the current class.  The class starts at 9.30am and ends at 4.30pm.

Please bring a light packed lunch.      Tea, coffee and biscuits served through the day.
