Silver Clay and Dichroic Glass Class – Wednesday 22th and Thursday 23rd April 2026

Description

The combination of a glass cabochon and silver clay is very attractive and beautiful.

In this two day class you will learn the properties of Dichroic Glass.    We will make a few Cabochons and you will learn how to set a beautiful cabochon into silver clay.

Materials provided:                       One glass cabochon ready to use,   Sheets of Dichroic glass and Bulls eye glass to make the cabochons,  20g Silver clay and one pre made small glass cabochon.

For this class you will need to have a basic experience of working with silver clay.

On Day one you will be using one premade glass cabochons to learn the process of using silver clay and glass in one piece. Also we will be making some glass cabochons wich due the cool down period (around 8 to 10  hours after firing) the cabochons that you will make will be ready on the second day.                                                                                          On the second day you will be making your chosen design and using your own cabochons. Due to the long firing process this piece will be posted to your  chosen address in the following day or two.

For your safety, please wear closed shoes, please tie your hair back if it is very long and  if you wear glasses for close work please don’t forget to bring them.

Contact the Studio for  alternative dates if you can’t attend the current class.  The class starts at 9.30am and ends at 4.30pm.

Please bring a light packed lunch.      Tea, coffee and biscuits served through the day.
